Passing Warmth and Offering Love --Acter went to the Children's Welfare Institution

On May 10th, 2023, Acter Volunteer Group started another love trip, this time we went to Suzhou General Social Welfare Institution to visit the children in the orphanage and dedicate our love. At 13:10 in the afternoon, we set off from the company and drove for about half an hour to the destination. I was very touched when I walked into the children's welfare center, most of them are not "normal", some of them are congenital disabilities, mental retardation, cerebral palsy, Down's syndrome, but they are all very lovely, just less lively than they should be at that age. But they are all very cute, just a little less lively and dynamic than they should be at that age.

We prepared stickers, coloring boards and puzzles for the children, hoping that these unusual toys would bring them joy. We interacted with them and played with them, because most of them are underdeveloped children, so when we interacted with them, we had to be extra considerate, and took out the prepared snacks and gave them to them, so as to pull in the distance between each other, and as expected, we got acquainted with them very quickly, and each of the children painted their coloring boards earnestly, and their concentrated looks even made people forget that they were underdeveloped children. They were so focused that you would forget that they were dysfunctional children.

They will warmly call you "auntie", will warmly communicate with you, and even think that the stickers they interacted with were "a bit childish". We stayed for about 2 hours, waved goodbye to them, and when we took pictures, they were happily comparing scissor hands.

During this activity, we got to know the life and spirit of these children, they are a group of angels with broken wings, although physically handicapped, but everyone is pure and beautiful. So we should always have a grateful heart to discover the beauty around us.
